Stephan Sonnenberg brings with him two decades of professional experience helping individuals and organizations improve the way they communicate, work with conflict, and interact productively with their counterparts. Stephan has previously served on the faculties of Harvard and Stanford Law Schools, where he taught students in experiential settings to apply the tactics of dispute resolution and consensus building in real-life situations. He then moved to Asia, where he has helped law schools in several countries develop robust clinical and experiential learning programs.

In addition to various teaching engagements, Stephan is currently working on issues relating to North Koreans migrating to South Korea, corporate social responsibility, difficult conversations about historical and colonial legacies, and human rights.

Stephan has worked with corporate clients, government organizations, non-profit organizations, international organizations, and community activists in over two dozen countries. He enjoys finding the common human elements of interactions across these various contexts and helping counterparts identify intuitive ways to approach seemingly intractable disagreements.

Stephan received his Juris Doctorate from Harvard Law School, a Masters from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, and a one-year Diplôme from the Institut des Êtudes Politiques in Paris, France.
